This battlefield entry has a more realistic feel to it than its predecessor. The silly jokes from the multiplayer announcer are gone, and ar replaced with the desperate cries of what feels like a real commander. Not only that, it takes about half the bullets to kill someone in Bad Company 2 when compared to Bad Company. The Frostbite engine, in all of its wall crumbling glory, has been tweaked as well. Now you can finally level a building, and tearing down walls and trees makes more sense. They also added some much needed (but not overdone) blood to the game. This grittier feel works much better for the game than the non-serious approach the original Bad Company took. It is a welcome change that both me and Jordan really liked.
As expected from a Battlefield game, the sound is gorgeous. Gun shots echo off walls, the sound of sniper shots ring over the Battlefield, basically it is flawless. The sound of the game is just absolutely perfect. It is hard to describe sound, but if you have played the game you know what I am talking about. It is very rare that I find a game that does something perfectly, but Bad Company 2 truly does have perfect sound.
The Graphics look good, but they are not anything ground breaking. That is not to say that the game looks generic. The game has above average graphics, but it is not on par with Call of Duty.
There are some minor annoyances in the Beta, such as unscoping your sniper rifle every time you pull the bolt back, and we did have some lag in certain games, but nothing was bad enough to ruin the experience.
To sum it up, I highly encourage you to try the beta. It is a ton of fun, and it is a great distraction until games like Bioshock 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction come out. If you like realistic shooters, I wouldn't give buying this game a second thought. Me and Jordan highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys FPS games. Due to us being tight on cash we are not sure if we will be able to purchase this one, but if money wasn't an issue, we would definitely be grabbing this game.
